Rules
A few thing we just want to make sure we’re all agreed upon, hence the rules. Any recent updates to the rules are highlighted below. Feel free to contact any of the officers if you have thoughts or suggestions about these.
- General
- No begging.
- No spamming the chat channels
- No stealing kills, mining, herbs or skinning. If in doubt ask.
- Respect other players.
- Offensive chat of any nature will not be tolerated in Guild chat nor will drama between Guild members.
- PVP Raiding:
- Do not spend hours camping and killing the same NPC(s) in a low level starting area. If you are bored, try it in an area closer to your level where you might get honor fighting other players.
- Guild
- Any character who hasn’t logged into the game for 14 days or more will be removed from the Guild. Please let an Officer know if you are going to be absent for any lengthy period time.
- Be willing to help others.
- If a Guild member needs help and you aren’t busy, then help them.
- The Guild will not help you power level, we will help you when you’re stuck with advice and, when needed, with a group
- Guild Ranks
- Only Guild Officers have the ability to invite and promote members. Promotion is only granted after discussion amongst the Officers.
- Squire - This is the probationary, getting to know you, getting to know the Guild rank. This gives the candidate and the Guild a chance to determine if there’s a good fit.
- Honor Guard - After a period of no less than 2 weeks, but based upon individual circumstances, a Squire will be promoted to Honor Guard. This is a casual rank designed for new members as they get to know the Guild better and determine how they wish to contribute to the Guild.
- Exalted Guard - Guild members who have shown dedication and commitment to the Guild but are still interested in remaining casual (i.e. not interested in running raid instances) will be promoted to this rank by Guild Leaders.
- Knight - This is the highest casual rank within our Guild.
- Exalted Knight - Officer - Once a member has decided that they wish to take on an active roll in the Guild.
- Guild Leader - Officer - Highest non-casual rank. This rank has proven it’s commitment to the Guild and to running raid instances.
- Guild Recruiting
- Only Officers may invite to the Guild, but any member can refer someone for invite.
- Please take the time to know who you are recruiting. All new recruits will be the responsibility of the recruiting officer until such time as they have been promoted to Honor Guard.
- Do your best to provide guidance and support to your new recruit but you are not expected to “babysit”" them.
- Add a comment to the Officer notes and/or send Greymonkey mail letting him know who you recruited. e.g. Recruiter - Greymonkey
- Guild Instance Runs
- Priority for instance runs/group quests will be given to those scheduled in Group Calendar. Otherwise any requests will be at the discretion of the Guild members and there are no expectations given that this has not been scheduled. We do our best to help, but we also need to respect each others time, and using a calendar will make things run more smoothly.
- If you have difficulties getting other members to sign-up for you run, then please notify a Guild Officer.
- Instances help members not only level and upgrade gear but also to learn how to work as a team. This also gives us the opportunity to gather gear and items for the Guild Bank that can be used to help all Guild members. The more resources we have available to us, the easier it’ll become for us all to excel.
- A member can roll NEED on any item as long as they have informed the party before doing so on items that are direct upgrades.
- Any blue or higher, BOE items that are not needed as upgrades for members must be deposited to the Guild Bank. This includes Primal Nether.
- Any blue or higher, BOP items should be disenchanted, if possible, and the shards deposited to the Guild Bank.
- Groups/Parties
- Rolling for loot:
- Always roll GREED.
- If the item is an upgrade, ask permission to roll NEED.
- DO NOT NINJA.
- Rolling for loot:
- Guild Bank
- Do not take items from the bank just to sell them. People contribute items in the hopes they can be used not just sold for quick gold.
- All ranks have deposit and view rights. Item withdrawal is based on Guild rank as follows:
- Squire - View only. Withdrawals can be requested via Daswordbank or Guild officers and will be determined on a per request basis.
- Honor Guard - Withdrawal from Consumables tab only
- Exalted Guard - Withdrawal from Consumables tab, repairs
- Knight - Withdrawal from Consumables, repairs
- Exalted Knight - Withdrawal from Consumables and Blues, repairs
- Blade Knight - Withdrawal from Consumables and Blues, repairs
- Guild leader - Withdrawal from Consumables, Blues and Purples, repairs
- For the interim, Daswordbank has many extra items, so if you don’t see it in the Guild Bank, check with Daswordbank by sending a mail.
- All deposits are being accepted in the last tab of the guild bank.
- The amount for guild repair funds available varies based up on rank.
- Account Security
- Account Security is your responsibility. All of your SoA toons will be removed from the guild if we find out that account security has been compromised. If your account is compromised we expect you to do whatever you can to repay the guild as quickly as possible. At risk accounts include the following:
- Buying gold from any online source.
- Sharing your account with anyone, including family members or friends
- Not the orginal owner of your account.
- Not using secure or popular websites to download addons/game mods
- Not changing your password frequently
- We realize there is always an exception and that occasionally accounts do get hacked at random but more often than not the above reasons are the culprit.
- Raiding
- We use a Karma System based on time in the guild and/or guild participation; raid participation over all; raid participation for the current raid; upgrade need and previous loot distribution. We are fair to everyone in the group based on those facts. Our Raid Leader / Loot Master will call out the item and all those persons able to use the item are encouraged to type the word “Need”. It will then be determined by the Raid Leader / Loot Master who is eligible to roll on that item or if the item is to be awarded, and to whom. This unfortunately is not a group debate but based upon the above listed information. Any items not needed by anyone in the raid group will be awarded for disenchanting and the shards placed in the guild bank to fund future raids, lotto, etc. Because we are making every attempt to be fair to everyone in our raid groups we have decided to NOT implement a DKP (Dragon Kill Point) System. The Karma System is designed to award fair distribution of loot but still take into consideration the commitment made by those to the guild and to SoA raiding.
- Those of you interested in SoA raiding must:
- Download most recent Group Calendar.
- All raids are organized via Group Calendar. We encourage all members to sign up for any raids you are interested in. Provided the qualifications for that raid instance are met you may be assigned a raid spot. Signing upon Group Calendar does not guarantee a raid spot. It lets raid leaders know you are available and have met the necessary requirements for that raid instance.
- Download most recent Omen Threat Meter.
- Meet the Class Stat Requirements
- Taking a main tank with 200 defense or a caster with 32 spell hit into Zul’Aman is unfair to the rest of the raid group. (Tank and caster stats were used solely for example purposes.) We will do our best to assist those interested in raiding with heroic runs, Kara runs, etc for gear but please remember that priority on raids will go to those meeting the class stat requirements.
- Download most recent Group Calendar.
- Our raiding times vary but usually are scheduled from 8pm server time to 12am server time. If you sign up for a raid please be committed to this time table. We understand that Real Life sometimes happens and that is the priority, that being said we expect our raid group to be prepared and willing to stay for the entire raid.
